A little inspiration for you today. I created this card for a class last night in the Stampin’ & Scrappin’ Studio. I love the bright, bold colors of this card along with the peaceful feeling of girl sitting in the window.
Measurements
Card base basic black: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at the 4 1/4″
Designer Series Paper (DSP) black & white stripes: 1/2″ and 1″
DSP granny apple green: 3 3/4″ x 4″
Poppy Parade: 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″, and 2 strips cut at 1/2″ x 4″
Basic White: 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ plus scrap for the flag
4″ x 5 1/4″ layer (for inside of card)
Basic Black: scrap for the flag
Directions:
Take your basic black card base and fold in half on the score line. Next, using your Stampin’ Seal, put a small strip onto the back of the DSP’s and have a “peak” of the poppy parade strips show to create a layered look.
Using the 1/2″ DSP layer, glue to the top of the card leaving a 1/8″ space on the top and sides.
Next, take your granny apple green DSP and adjoin against the previous layer.
Last, affix your poppy parade strip onto the DSP by using putting a small strip of Stampin’ Seal on the DSP and have a “peak” of the poppy parade strip show again (as you did for the top layer).
Leaving a 1/8″ gap between the bottom of the card and the 2 sides, put in place to complete your layer. Some of the poppy parade with overhang onto the granny apple green DSP just a bit.
Next, stamp your image of the girl in the window onto the 2 1/2″ square piece of basic white. Color with Stampin’ Blends Markers starting with the dark color then blending with the lighter marker to create shadows on your image. Affix your image onto the Poppy Parade layer (2 3/4″ square) and glue at an angle onto your card
Finish off the stamped image by using your Wink of Stella on the windows to add a bit of sparkle. (One of my favorite ways to add a bit of pizazz to my stamping projects!)
Finish off by cutting 2 flags from the Tasteful Labels dies (YUP, you can cut 2 of these at the same time) using basic black and basic white paper. Trim the basic white flag down by cutting on the dotted area to create a layered look. Stamp “hey” from The Best Year stamp set in Black Tuxedo Memento (I wanted a casual/all purpose card that can be customized later). To add a little more depth, I used the 3 flowers from the Artistically Inked stamp set stamped in poppy parade. Adhere onto your card with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
Lastly, I finished it off with a sprinkle of black matte dots embellishments.
I hope this inspiration gets your stampin’ mojo going and you are itching to create this card!
